About KECHIE'S Project

"Growing up as a girl in Nigeria came with a number of adversities, though I was one of the few lucky ones with a Dad who valued education and supported his girls. It was a sudden stroke of inspiration when my parents decided to name me Nkechi, which means..."

Why KECHIE'S Project

KECHIE'S PROJECT

Mission

Kechie's Project is a non-profit organization committed to empowering girls to become future leaders. We provide academic and social support to girls in underserved communities in America and Africa.

Purpose
Educating women is key to achieving prosperity in any society. To promote a better community here in United States and a better Africa, Kechie's Project is dedicated to providing educational opportunities to girls. Empower a girl with knowledge, she will help her family and community.

Goals

Education | From High School to Higher Education

We aim to fund each student's high school tuition and personal costs. Many students come from impoverished backgrounds where personal needs such as food, water and school supplies keep them out of the classroom. Kechie's Project will cover school-related costs that a family cannot afford to ensure that each girl can attend school regularly. Upon graduating from high schoool there will be an opportunity to recieve a vocational college or university scholarship..

Mentorship | Academic, Social and Personal Guidance

Each girl will have a personal mentor for guidance and support to succeed in school and to handle social and personal issues including relationship, family, and self-esteem matters. Mentors will act as a resource for their mentees in every aspect of their lives from helping with academic needs to providing feminine hygiene products.

Leadership | For Girls to Serve Their Communities and Beyond

Our Program provides career training to prepare girls for leadership positions in their communities and in their profession. Our upcoming programs include:

  1. Entrepreneurship in Fashion
  2. Cultural Exchange Program
